Quality Inn and Bogey’s Restaurant Salmonella Outbreak

Claims arose from an outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis infections linked to contaminated food served at a banquet dinner at the Quality Inn in Clarkston, Washington on March 6, 2003.

After an extensive investigation, Health Department officials concluded that over 58 people became ill as a result of eating contaminated food served at that banquet dinner at Bogey’s Restaurant. The Health Department further concluded that the most likely source of the illnesses was undercooked, “pooled” eggs that were used to make fried ice cream.
